The Hat tips off for $100,000
Naresh Chauhan | Aug 11 2009

Crowns or hats with their rich ancient glory and style have always been popular headgear for the affluent as well as the trendy. Taking the artistic excellence of the conventional hats into the modern era, the king of the master weavers, Simón Espinal, commissioned by Brent Black has come up with the world’s finest Montecristi Panama for a whopping $100,000. Called “The Hat,” the one of a kind headgear is finished with extremely fine toquilla straw, which is woven only in Ecuador. Based on vintage patterns, the hand-woven Hat touting a hefty label gives a tribute to the refined knitting skills of the Montecristi weavers.
