New commercial complex to uplift the culture and economy of Cuba
Naresh Chauhan | Nov 6 2009

Brazilian firm WTC Accessory International LTDA teaming up with the architects from Aflalo & Gasperini Arquitetos has designed an immaculate structure for Havana (Cuba) that will boost the cultural and technical worth of the Caribbean nation. Located in a rectangular island near the beach of Havana Club, the commercial complex with its sloping surface looks as if it’s rising from the seabed. Spreading in an area about 200,000 sq m, the 180m tall building will house a shopping center, an area for conventions and events, corporate offices, apartments with hotel service and an 800-room hotel to receive guests from all over the world. Moreover, the structure will provide areas for recreation, restaurants, a terrace gazebo and a helipad at the top, while the basement will accommodate a marina, yacht club and pedestrian walkway, which together with an overpass for vehicles will give access to the building.
