Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s first lunar landing, to be held on July 20th, Louis Vuitton keeping a trip to Mars in mind has designed a custom-made “Malle Mars” trunk that opens up to expose compartments and drawers for all kinds of space necessities. Offering adequate space to store different essential objects, ranging from tool and pharmaceuticals drawers to shelves for dishware and even a folding chair, the robotic, space-age-like piece instantly brings “Star Trek” to mind. The Malle Mars trunk, together with NASA photographs, space toys, sculptures and astronomy photos, will be displayed at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History on this coming Monday.
