Designed to meet the demands of all who need a much powerful ride, the design team at Diseno-Art has come up with a sports car, Lotus Electrive, aims towards the Lotus brand. Constructed on a tubular aluminum spaceframe covered with a GRP body, the car carries a set of rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries that can either be charged by plugging the vehicle into a standard mains electricity socket. Solar panels can also be mounted on the side pods to charge the vehicle on the go, which definitely will take more time than the use of mains electricity. The car is powered by two electric motors, located in the rear carbon fiber section, which propels each rear wheel. During deceleration the car’s electric motors act in reverse, generating a small amount of energy, which again tops up the battery charge. The electric vehicle can also be run in three different modes – Sport mode for a more powerful drive, which of course comes at the cost of range, a standard mode in which performance in balanced with range and an Eco Mode in which performance is sacrificed to offer greater range.
