Kranhaus, giving a new dimension to Rheinauhafen Harbor

Winner of the first1st place in the MIPIM Award 2009 Cannes, the three “Kranhäuser” (Crane Houses) or “Kranhaus” by the Hamburg Architecture Office Bothe Richter Teherani BRT is a multi-structural complex that has given an altogether new look to the Rheinauhafen Harbor located immediately adjacent to Cologne, the fourth-largest city of Germany. Featuring a dynamic shape, accompanied by its association with the historical cranes area, the Kranhaus has become an emblem of the architectural commitment for the harbor city. This ambitious project includes three towering buildings, between 60 to 70 meters, offers some of the top locations for offices and living around the Cologne Cathedral.
